The Cabella International School embraces the shift towards seeing the teacher’s role as one of setting up learning experiences in which pupils are active and have a degree of control over the work they undertake. This move away from a passive acquisition of knowledge towards activities which enable pupils to develop intellectual and social skills in learning, fosters greater creativity, confidence and self-esteem.
However, we believe that too much autonomy can over-stimulate the ego in children and upset that delicate equilibrium between innocence and knowledge, which lies at the very foundation of a child’s overall well-being and development. We therefore aim to generate a learning ethos that offers a balance between active learning and the acquisition of knowledge based on teacher presentation, exposition and demonstration.
The curriculum is appropriate and relevant internationally, as well as culturally sensitive. At its heart is a commitment to structured, purposeful inquiry as the leading vehicle for learning.
The school follows The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) as a candidate school for the IBO authorization. You can read more about the IB PYP here.
The principal goal of education is to create men who are capable of doing new things, not simply of repeating what other generations have done.
